Welcome from the Program Director

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the University of Florida Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship!
We are proud to have successfully recruited our inaugural fellow and are now excited to recruit the next member of our growing program. With one fellow per year, our two-year fellowship is intentionally designed to provide individualized mentorship and a rich, tailored training experience that prepares graduates to become leaders in Pediatric Hospital Medicine.
At UF, our division is a close-knit, collaborative group of pediatric hospitalists dedicated to excellence in clinical care, medical education, advocacy, and scholarly work. As a fellow, you will work closely with faculty who are deeply committed to your growth, offering personalized guidance and meaningful opportunities across all aspects of academic hospital medicine.
Our program emphasizes comprehensive clinical training, exposure to diverse patient populations, and the development of skills in quality improvement, advocacy, and scholarship. As our program grows, fellows also have a unique opportunity to help shape its culture and future direction.
We are excited to continue building a strong foundation and to train the next generation of pediatric hospitalists—physicians who will advance the field while providing exceptional care to children and families. We look forward to welcoming you to Gainesville and to our fellowship community.
Warmly,
Sarah Marsicek, MD, FAAP

- Provide a flexible curriculum that allows fellows to tailor their training and experiences to their clinical and academic goals and interests.
- To develop an area of specialized skills in one of four domains: clinical research, advocacy, quality improvement, or medical education.
